We Are One party has been a place where both foreigners and Japanese can meet new friends and enhance cultural exchange. But We Are One team is not satisfied at this current state. We wish to bring unique characters to each party and meanings to our guests. To grow with our members is what we aim to achieve.

At our 25th party, we were very honored to have two Singaporean guests, Val and Tay, to share their five-year community project with us. They are two girls who travel around the world on bicycles, to collect drawings and messages to spread the belief that dreams can come true. After the sharing session showing videos and their beliefs, many of our guests were touched and inspired. We shared our dreams and on paper for them to bring along on their journey, hoping to inspire more people to achieve what they truely want in life.

The sharing session was followed by music presented by a band called "Strangers in a Strange Land". It's a musical group comprised of foreigners who pursue their dreams in music in a strange land, Japan. They sang in both Japanese and English, from their melodies and voice one can hear their passions for life and music.

After all, we are all one of a kind, chasers of our own dreams. "Don't be put off by hardship, be lead by your dreams."

We Are Oneはこれまで、日本人も外国人もどんな人でも気軽に楽しめるパーティー、たくさんの友達が作れる場として、数々のパーティーを主催してきました。しかし、まだまだ私たちが目指すものにはたどり着けていないと、We Are One Teamは感じています。参加してくれたどの人も、何か感じてそしてお互い高め合える場作り、それが私たちの目標です。

25日のパーティーでは、なんとシンガポールから来た素敵なゲストを迎えることができました。ValとTayという名前の二人の女性。彼女達は５年間の大きなプロジェクトを、We Are Oneパーティーの参加者にシェアしてくれることに。彼女達のプロジェクトというのは、世界中を自転車で旅し、それぞれの地から、‘夢は叶う’という希望を込めたメッセージや絵を集めてまわるというもの。彼女達のビデオセッションが終わると、参加者は渡された真っ白いカードに、それぞれ信じる‘希望’のメッセージを書きお互いの思いをシェアしました。

全員がシェアをする中、ある一人のミュージシャンが音楽を演奏してくれました。'Strangers in a Strange Land'と呼ばれるバンドメンバーの一人、彼の情熱的で優しい声と心地いいメロディーは、バー内の雰囲気に花を添えてくれることに。

全てのセッションが無事終わり、今回もパーティーに参加してくださったみなさんに感謝いっぱいです。We Are One Teamから‘ありがとう’の一言を。
私たちはみな夢を追いかける者。‘困難に導かれるのでなく、夢によって導かれるべし’そんな一言を今回私たちは感じ得ました。

2 Singaporeans traveling around the world on bicycles for the past 5 years are also joining us at BPM this Sunday. They want to bring a message to the world that DREAMS can come True!! They would be in Kyoto from 9th-14th July to collect drawing and messages from people on the streets to compile into a video for the children of Japan. They will also be sharing their world travelling experience with all of us. Come and see what interesting stories they would tell.

We run various We Are One events in a month such as international parties, Dinner parties, outdoor activities etc, bringing some of the most active international people together for friendship, networking, information exchange and simply to have fun in Kyoto and Kansai area.

Positions Needed

Organizers

1. Overall planning, preparing and execution of events
2. Coordinate and work with marketing, designers and writers for the events 
3. Oversee the smooth running of the events from the start to the end. 
4. Must have endless amount of energy, never-say-die spirit and determination in doing the impossibles. You are the captain, remember?

Marketing Officers

     1.        Advertising and publicity for We Are One events

     2.        Media relation

     3.        Working with designers to produce marketing material

                        4.     Must have good computer and internet skills, good interpersonal skills and 

                                business minded.

Designers

1.     Design for the following

      *Marketing materials such as posters and flyers

      *Layout and display of the website and blog

      *Layout and graphics for online newsletter

2. You can be a professional designer, design student, or just a hobbyist. You will be working with the organizer and marketing people for creating publicity material for our events. We respect and acknowledge your designs and we also hope you can keep to tight deadlines too. 

Writers

      1.        Work with marketing and designers on marketing materials

      2.        To give a write-up of the event for the blog and website.

      3.        Write-ups for news letters

      4.        Must have good writing skills in Japanese or English or both. You are writing history for We Are One. Charm our members with your fanciful words.

Photographers

1.        Take photos and videos during the events to capture precious moments.

2.        Upload them on our facebook group and blog.

3.        Work with marketing and designers on marketing materials 

       You will be presenting our events to the world through the lenses. 

Web Master
Web presence is one of the most important thing for any organization, business and even individual today and a good web master is the only key to achieve that. You will need to have

1. Web building knowledge and IT skills such as programming in various computing languages.
2. Up-to-date knowledge about web design trend, internet tools and function.
3. Knowledge in web conversion, SEO, online marketing, search engine mechanism, internet marketing.
4. Knowledge in website design, designing tools such as Photoshop and you will be working with the designers, photographers and writers as a team to present We Are One on others' monitor screens.

If you are new to this country, either being an international student, a job posting or somehow ended up here, joining as an organizer will allow you to meet a lot more people, get to run around in the city and help you figure out this new place in the shortest time. One of the founders, Tong from Singapore found some of his best friends in Japan while working on We Are One just 3 months 

after 

he first arrived in Japan.

Who Should Apply

We invite all those who are interested in international friendship to apply and encourage a diversity of membership.

Preferably, organizers will have international experience, can speak more than one language, and can reach out to a diverse group of people.

Organizers must be conscientious, open-minded, mature professionals or motivated students.

We Are One International is constantly looking out for new restaurants, bars, clubs or simply anywhere cool in Kansai area to host our many events. It will be great if you would offer your place as one of our event venues, and we will invite all our 972 members (as of June 2010 on Facebook group) to throw a fabulous event there. I am sure your establishment will also enjoy a fair share of publicity through our marketing effort.

We Are One International Goukon/ Speed Dating #1

Love Without Borders

Nowadays, most professionals live very busy lives and they usually mix with the same group of friends and colleagues. Because of this reason, We Are One started to organize speed dating/goukon event to provide singles an opportunity to meet many new people in one go. Moreover, we make sure that the event is international so that our guests can find love despite their cultural and background differences.

Our first speed dating / goukon was held at McLoughlin’s Irish Bar and Restaurant. Nine pairs of singles paired up and enjoyed 9 dates in one evening. After nine rounds of short dates, organizers match the participants based on their choices. Matchmaking games followed and were hosted by Sandra and Kazuki. At the end, two pairs of winners won vouchers to a French restaurant “Paris Bis” for their second date!

Many participants later told us that they enjoyed the event, and we got valuable feedbacks from some of our participants. We also witnessed couples walked out of the venue together and they’re seeing each other now one month after the event. We sincerely thank all the participants and their feedbacks, we will continue to offer great speed dating events once every two months in the future!

第一回目合コンイベントはMcLoughlinアイリッシュバー／レストランで開催することに。はじめに、参加者全員どの人とも話せるようにショートデートをセッティング。その後、参加者の選択に従って輪私たちの方で９つのカップルに分け、SandraとKazukiによるマッチングゲームの開始！このゲームによって勝った２つのカップルは、'Paris Bis'フランス料理店の招待券を手にすることに。これで２回目のデートの約束も決まったも同然ですね！

イベント後、参加者から良かったとの声が寄せられました。またその中にはとてもためになるフェードバックも。私たちはこのイベント後、参加者のカップルが道を歩いているのを見かけました。またこの合コンイベントができることを、カップル達を暖かく見守りながら思いました。

Event Rundown:

7:00pm - 8:00pm: All the gentlemen get seated on one side of the table opposite to the ladies. Each pair has 3 minutes to engage themselves in a short "date". After each interval, gentlemen move down one seat to their next date, until all of them have a chance to talk with everyone of the opposite gender.

8:00pm - 8:30pm: Buffet will be served. It's time for you to mingle with the singles you are interested in.

8:30pm - 9:30pm: Buffet continues. Match-making games begin. During this session, you will be matched with a partner according to your preferences. There will be prizes await for the two "couples" who win the games. Note that there will be at most 20 pairs, so you have a juicy chance of winning!

7時～8時：テーブルの片側に男性、反対側には女性が座ります。どのペアも3分ずつ交流して軽い「デート」をしてもら います。その後、男性は席をひとつ横にずれて、次のデートを楽しんでもらいます。すべての男女と話すチャンスがあり、全員と話したら終わります。
