We Are One #29 International Rooftop Live Band Party

Summer and Kyoto are like a couple madly in love,
so reluctant to part from one another when they are supposed to,
at this season of the year.


This time We Are One hosted a party on the rooftop,
overlooking the night view of Kyoto downtown.
Despite the summer heat,
about 70 people showed up at the party,
including many first-comers.


Under a sky of stars,
the band "Strangers in a Strange Land" soothed the audience with their comforting melodies.
In a very friendly and intellectual environment people mingled and exchanged life stories.
Laughter filled the rooftop.


French restaurant "Paris Bis" served authentic French snacks and desserts right on the rooftop,
further enhanced the internationality of We Are One party.


Specially thanks to everyone who showed up,
and those who refrained themselves from lighting up their cigarettes.
We hope that you all enjoyed the music, the fresh air, and the company!

夏ももうすぐ終わり、秋が近づくこの季節。
でもまだまだ真夏のようなうだる暑さは続くばかり。
でも、夜の京都の景色を一望すれば、
うだる気持ちもハッピーになるはず!!


今回は、Rooftop Live Music Partyに70人もの人がお越し下さり
大盛況でした!!
屋上から見える京都の夜景にぴったりのアコースティックバンド
「Strangers in a strange land」の生演奏が夜の雰囲気に花を添え、
「Paris Bis」シェフ特別のフランス料理が
みんなのお腹を満たしてくれたことでしょう。


今回は、We Are Oneの初めての屋上でのイベントでした。
屋上ではアットホームな雰囲気が漂い、
その場は一つの家族のようにも思え、とても暖かい気持ちに。
こんな大きな家族のようになれる場を作ることが
私たちWe Are Oneの一つの目標でもあります。


さあ、９月ももうすぐ始まります！
学生さんは学校が始まり、社会人の方はいつも通りお仕事ですね！
パーティーで気持ちがリフレッシュできたことを祈っています。

ABOUT THE BAND
Osaka-based acoustic-rock duo called Ihou-no-kyaku (Pronounced "ee-ho-no-kyah-koo" which translates as "Strangers in a Strange Land".) We Are One #29 International Rooftop Live Band Party will take place on the rooftop, overseeing Kyoto city and Higashiyama. The food and drink counter serving French style snacks and drinks will be right there on the rooftop. Chairs and tables are set out for your comfort.

    ８月２８日は久しぶりに自分が主催じゃないのinternational partyに参加してきました。

    WE ARE ONE INTERNATIONAL PARTY IN KYOTO


    日本で働くシンガポール人の方が運営されていました。２００８年からはじめてもう２９回目。すごい!!


    今回のパーティーは河原町二条のとあるビルの屋上を借りて行われていました。そんなに広くはなく、食事やドリンクのスペースもあるので、４０人くらい入るともういっぱい。

    バンドが断続的に流れて、パーティーはすごくアットホームな感じでした。シャイな人でも知らない人同士でも仲良くなれたりできる雰囲気があって、いい感じでした。

    あとこのパーティーに参加しながら思ったのは、これくらいの規模なら月一くらいで友達のカフェ借りて、バンド呼んでできるんじゃないかと。

    最近はうちのハウスでパーティーをしていても住人さんの入れ替わりがないので、なんというか新鮮さがなく、出会いもないので個人的には消化不良だったので、住人関係なくinternational partyということで企画すれば住人さんたちにとっても新しい出会いのきっかけにもなるし、京都に住む外国人さんたちに向けての広報も兼ねることができる。


    おおぉ、まさに一石二鳥


    パーティー後は、鴨川でわいわい。


    楽しい一日でした。
