We Are One Yodogawa Hanabitaikai (Firework Festival)

Along with thousands of other people, We Are One International Party-goers crowded onto the banks of the Yodogawa River to await night-fall and the spectacular firework display. We passed the time sharing food and drink, and meeting both old and new friends from around the world.
Special thanks to those who went early and held a space for everyone!

夏の名物花火大会、その中でもひときわ賑わう'淀川花火大会’。

この暑い夏の真っただ中、暑さなんか何のその！

花火が間近で見れる会場に席をとり、

様々な国から来た人々が寄せ集まりながら、

ピクニック感覚で花火を堪能。

今回は初めての顔ぶれが多かったので、

普段開くパーティーとまた違った雰囲気が心地良い。

またみなさんにお会いできることを楽しみにしています!!

It will be a FREE picnic style event where people can hang out and get to know each other, and everybody can watch and cheer for one of the most famous Fireworks in Osaka at night. It will be held by the Yodogawa River, because of how popular this firework is, some of us will be there slightly early (at 1 p.m.) to secure some primary locations... So if you would like to join in the fun, then please feel free to come along.... The more the merrier.. And the more happy volunteers, the more space we can secure ;-) contact us!

大阪のあの有名な淀川花火を観賞してみんなで盛り上がりませんか！？
昼間からピクニック形式で集まりましょう！
淀川のすぐそばにて行います。（阪急十三駅より歩いて１０分）
このイベントは人で溢れ返りますので、正午から我々は場所とりにいきます！この楽しそうなピクニックに参加したい人がいたら午後１時に阪急十三駅で集合してください！

There will be lots of booths set up in the surrounding areas, where you can get all kinds of Japanese YATAI food like, Yakisoba, Karaage, Takoyaki, Kakikoori etc., because this will be a FREE event we thought it would be a nice idea if everyone comes along with something that they can share... Whether it's some delicate handmade snacks, soft drinks, strong drinks ;-) or some food from your home country, bring a little something that you can offer would be ideal :-)

花火大会当日は、周辺にたくさんの屋台があって、焼きそば、から揚げ、たこ焼き、かき氷等祭りに欠かせないものが買えます！なお、今回は無料のイベントなんで、ご自分で何かみんなとシェアーできる食べ物や飲み物も持ってきてください！スナック、ソフトドリンク、アルコール、自分の国の食べ物、なんでもかまいません。

We Are One International Party #27 Salsa in Yukata

International Party #27
SALSA & YUKATA AT EL COYOTE

A mirror ball hanging from the ceiling scattered flashes of light around the room as international party-goers from around the world (Japan, Taiwan, Ecuador, Paraguay... ) copied the moves of the charismatic salsa instructor at El Coyote Bar in Sanjo. By the end of the lesson the dancers were looking pretty good, so it's a shame only two or three couples made use of the dance floor during the rest of the evening. But perhaps drinking and good conversation were more attractive on such a hot summer evening.

Some highlights of the evening were...
The fun salsa lesson
Beautiful yukatas like exotic summer flowers!
Eduardo from Ecuador can talk on his cellphone and dance at the same time! (Looks like both activities are second nature to him.)

Yusuke did an impromptu dance solo on the stage (maybe hip hop? I don't know much about dance)
Evie from Taiwan gave a salsa lesson for late arrivals

Before the summer festivals and fireworks take place, if you need one more excuse to show off your traditional Japanese fashion, here you have it!

Come dressed in your colourful yukata and dance yourself to the beats of Salsa with other international-minded individuals at EI COYOTE. Bring your friends and your weekend party mood, come take part in the spark when east meets west!

On one condition, we kindly encourage all the smokers not to light up your cigarettes which pollutes the fresh scents of our lovely summer wears!
