皆さん、明けましておめでとうございます。
新年をお祝いするＷＡＯのパーティーイベントが築70年の歴史を持つ京町屋造りのゲストハウス、「まくや」で行われました。今回も大勢の方がイベントに参加しました。

木造の梁や扉、木枠の窓、アンティークな振り子時計や調度品の数々の何気ない演出で昭和初期にタイムスリップしたような気分にさせてくれる、どこか懐かしくてそれでいてモダンな感じもする不思議な空間でした。
Then not long later, 手巻き寿司began.
Tongの日本語での新年の挨拶の後に皆で乾杯。火鉢の金網に載せて焼かれたやわらか～い黄粉餅がふるまわれました。またアボガド、ソーセージ、納豆、かにかまぼこ、卵焼き、マグロ、etc.具沢山の手巻き寿司を思い思いに創作して堪能しました。

前回のＷＡＯのイベントを通して仲良くなった友達や今日知り合ったばかりの新しい友達と掘炬燵を囲んでトランプをして遊んだり、旅行の話や仕事の話、プライベートトークに花を咲かせて談笑しました。とてもアットホームで和やかな雰囲気だったのであっと言う間にお開きの時間が来てしまいました。

たまたま座った席が掘り炬燵で気持ち良すぎて移動する気にはなれず、残念ながら他のテーブル席の方々と話す機会を持たなかった事に少しばかり反省。^_^; 次回のイベントでゆっくりとお話する事ができれば幸甚です。

2011 will be arriving in just a few days. How has 2010 been for you so far? And how would you wish 2011 will turn out to be?
As a big celebration for the New Year and the first We Are One event in 2011, we are all going to have a New Year Party at “Machiya MAKUYA, a Japanese traditional house turned guest house”!!
This time, we will be having a Home Style party in this traditional Japanese wooden house while enjoying traditional Japanese New Year snacks and drinks with everyone.
What’s more, this party is in conjuncture with Machiya MAKUYA’s grand opening. It will be an excellent opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese house, if you have yet to been into one.
So for this New Year, let’s begin with new experiences, making new friends and also bringing along some old friends.

今回は“アットホームな新年会”をテーマに、日本家屋•木の家でリラックスしながら、日本の新年の伝統的な食事そしてドリンクを楽しみながら、WAOメンバーと一緒に素敵な時間を過ごしましょう！
また、開催場所「町屋•まくや」は2011年1月がグランドオープン時期です。今まで町屋に行ったことない人も、町屋に興味が会っても行くチャンスがなかった人も、日本の伝統家屋を体験できる絶好の機会になるはず！
