This month’s Travelers’ Night, we will be presenting a place famous for its classic music and beer: Germany
Germany is a popular country even among Europeans. There are also many Japanese people learning German. They all love Germany.
The presenter for this event will be a young gentleman, Clemens all the way from Germany, who is now in Kyoto for Working-Holiday. He loves Japan and his Japanese is so fluent that he appeared in one of the local TV program in Japan. Clemens is indeed a friendly and interesting German guy.
So, let’s see what he has to say about Germany on “Travelers’ Night”.'

Intermediate Chinese lessons are for students who already have some basic fundamentals of the Chinese language. They are able to initiate and hold simple conversations in Chinese, such as talking about their daily life, hobbies and asking and answering simple questions. They should also be able to write simple sentences and have basic knowledge of Chinese grammar rules.
Intermediate Chinese lessons will be focusing more on listening and conversational skills in order to achieve better fluency in the language. Lessons will be conducted mainly in Chinese to reduce dependency on Japanese or English. Materials include recommended textbook, workbook, MP3, online materials, and readings from various sources.

Ryosuke Takahashi, Elementary Chinese, Business English (Advance)
I have been taking Chinese lesson and Business English lesson since beginning. The lesson is taken in a relaxing and comfort environment, which enables me to focus on learning and practicing with other learning mates. I was a newbie and unknowledgeable to Chinese language at the very beginning, but thanks to the teacher’s effective teaching, I have been able acquire basic communication skills and pass the elementary level of Chinese language. As well, in response to my request of enhancing my English skills in a business field, he also conducts a Business English lesson personally with me once a week. In this lesson, I study effective negotiation skills when demanding a salary raise or making a business deal, and self-presentation skills at a job interview. Although the lesson itself has just started lately, I have already studied an amount of practical and useful skills and knowledge in a business scene.

Daniel Lee (Speaker/ from Penang!)
Hajimemashite. Hi my name is Daniel Lee and I am from the sunny tropics of Penang, Malaysia.I obtained my bachelors in International Relations in Minnesota, USA. Before coming to Japan I was working for two years at a non-profit organization as a researcher and as an irregular article contributor and photographer for a local magazine.
I am currently studying Japanese at Kyoto University before enrolling in Ritsumeikan University’s Graduate School of International Relations. (So please speak to me in Japanese but please be patient with my poor Japanese!)
My interests include badminton, watching football, hiking, photography, reading, music, film, drinking and of course, travelling. The last place I visited was Cambodia and Vietnam last January for three weeks. (So if you are partaking in any of these activities, please let me know!)
