Along with thousands of other people, We Are One International Party-goers crowded onto the banks of the Yodogawa River to await night-fall and the spectacular firework display. We passed the time sharing food and drink, and meeting both old and new friends from around the world.
Special thanks to those who went early and held a space for everyone!

夏の名物花火大会、その中でもひときわ賑わう'淀川花火大会’。

この暑い夏の真っただ中、暑さなんか何のその！

花火が間近で見れる会場に席をとり、

様々な国から来た人々が寄せ集まりながら、

ピクニック感覚で花火を堪能。

今回は初めての顔ぶれが多かったので、

普段開くパーティーとまた違った雰囲気が心地良い。

またみなさんにお会いできることを楽しみにしています!!

It will be a FREE picnic style event where people can hang out and get to know each other, and everybody can watch and cheer for one of the most famous Fireworks in Osaka at night. It will be held by the Yodogawa River, because of how popular this firework is, some of us will be there slightly early (at 1 p.m.) to secure some primary locations... So if you would like to join in the fun, then please feel free to come along.... The more the merrier.. And the more happy volunteers, the more space we can secure ;-) contact us!

昼間からピクニック形式で集まりましょう！
淀川のすぐそばにて行います。（阪急十三駅より歩いて１０分）
このイベントは人で溢れ返りますので、正午から我々は場所とりにいきます！この楽しそうなピクニックに参加したい人がいたら午後１時に阪急十三駅で集合してください！

There will be lots of booths set up in the surrounding areas, where you can get all kinds of Japanese YATAI food like, Yakisoba, Karaage, Takoyaki, Kakikoori etc., because this will be a FREE event we thought it would be a nice idea if everyone comes along with something that they can share... Whether it's some delicate handmade snacks, soft drinks, strong drinks ;-) or some food from your home country, bring a little something that you can offer would be ideal :-)

花火大会当日は、周辺にたくさんの屋台があって、焼きそば、から揚げ、たこ焼き、かき氷等祭りに欠かせないものが買えます！なお、今回は無料のイベントなんで、ご自分で何かみんなとシェアーできる食べ物や飲み物も持ってきてください！スナック、ソフトドリンク、アルコール、自分の国の食べ物、なんでもかまいません。

HOT! HOT! HOT! Only the hot bikini girls could rival the hot summer night!

When Kyoto was cooking in nearly 100 degree weather with lots of humidity, We Are One had decided to march along with the hot summer days and to host a beach party!

The event was held at Sam & Dave, one of the hottest night clubs in Kyoto. It attracted a clientele of about 200 Japanese and foreigners on a Thursday night until dawn!

Decorations put up by the organizers welcomed the party-goers; laser light illuminated the venue; professional DJ spun the tunes that led people into the dance floor. When the bikini girls started to dance on stage it caused a stir that excited the whole crowd!

Music went on until the sun greeted the city at dawn, the heat lingers on…

We met many new faces during this special event! Special thanks to people who showed up! We hope to see you again at another We Are One event!

体が溶けて流れ出してしまいそうなこのうだる暑さの中、京都でも有名なクラブ"Sam&Dave"で、We Are One第２８回目のイベント"Beach Party"を開催しました。

約200人がこのイベントに参加し、ここSam&Daveで、夏の暑さにも負けないほどホットな木曜日の夜を体感。

デコレーションは主催者の手で施されビーチ感が漂い、DJによるミュージックとともに人々は好きなスタイルで踊りながら、ダンスフロアは熱気に溢れていました。この熱気は朝の５時まで止むことはなく•••

今回のイベントで新しい顔ぶれに出会うことができました。またWe Are Oneの違うイベントでお会いしましょう!!!次回はクラブとは違った落ち着きのある屋上パーティーです!!ぜひ、お友達や恋人を連れて、京都の美しさ満点の夜景を見にお越し下さい。情報はこちら。

Cafe Tour Around Kyoto NO. 1

A Café has been a place for artists and intellectuals to get caffeine-stimulated imaginations and ideas, a place for everyday people to get together to talk about everyday life. The Turks like to say, "The heart doesn't yearn for coffee or a coffee house. The heart yearns for friends, coffee is the excuse."
My intention to organize this Cafe Tour is not only to provide a chance for people to see different cafes around Kyoto, more importantly I hope to create these small communities for artists and an opportunity for them to meet others with the same interests, and thus inspire one another.

Our first cafe was held in Cafe Detective, the theme was photography. The cafe has mysterious design that brings customers to another world different from their own. Here, each of our participants had about 20 minutes of sharing session which they share their photo album, camera and experience with one another. I got to see Hasselblad 503 CW medium format single-lens reflex camera. And that was priceless. I hope that more artists can join this event in the future, let's inspire and get inspiration to help yourself and others to achieve their dreams!

A Café has been a place for artists and intellectuals to get caffeine-stimulated imaginations and ideas, a place for everyday people to get together to talk about everyday life. For that very reason, We Are One has decided to organize a Café Tour around Kyoto for similar-minded people who would like to share their interests and passions with one another. Kyoto itself, we believe, is an amazing art gallery full of artistic cafés.

Once every two weeks on a Saturday afternoon we will have a Café Tour with different themes. We would like to gather people with specific interests and talents to join. Each time we will organize a group of about 8 people to visit 3-4 cafés in a specific area in Kyoto.

Our first Café Tour around Kyoto will be held in the afternoon on 17th of July. The theme is photography. If you are an enthusiast of photography and would like to meet others with the same interest then you can come join at our first tour, as long as you can share your experience and some of your great photos with others. Both professionals and amateurs are welcome! Due to the number limit please register by email to We Are One, and briefly tell us your experience of photography. ^^

We Are One International Party #27 Salsa in Yukata

International Party #27
SALSA & YUKATA AT EL COYOTE

A mirror ball hanging from the ceiling scattered flashes of light around the room as international party-goers from around the world (Japan, Taiwan, Ecuador, Paraguay... ) copied the moves of the charismatic salsa instructor at El Coyote Bar in Sanjo. By the end of the lesson the dancers were looking pretty good, so it's a shame only two or three couples made use of the dance floor during the rest of the evening. But perhaps drinking and good conversation were more attractive on such a hot summer evening.

Some highlights of the evening were...

Beautiful yukatas like exotic summer flowers!
Eduardo from Ecuador can talk on his cellphone and dance at the same time! (Looks like both activities are second nature to him.)

Yusuke did an impromptu dance solo on the stage (maybe hip hop? I don't know much about dance)
Evie from Taiwan gave a salsa lesson for late arrivals
